Empower Change: Invest in Youth and Yougn Adults' Transformation

InsideOUT Writers transforms the lives of system-impacted youth and Young Adults by offering programs that heal, empower, and inspire. With your support, we create opportunities for young people to reimagine their futures.

Your Impact In 2024:

  • Writing Program: Engaged 484 incarcerated youth this year, providing a safe space to develop resilience and creativity.

  • Youth Diversion Program: Diverted 76 youth from the justice system through intensive case management, life skills development, and paid internships. Our Case Managers serve youth across Los Angeles County—from Santa Monica to Lancaster and Pomona—meeting them where they are, literally.

  • Alumni Program (Re-Entry Support): InsideOUT Writers provides comprehensive re-entry services that this year empowered 51 participants to build new, stable lives after incarceration. Through personalized mentorship, youth and young adults are guided by mentors who understand their struggles and help them navigate their journeys. Our field trips and workshops expand their horizons, while job placement assistance ensures they gain valuable work experience. We also support members with linkages to gain housing, addressing one of the biggest barriers to successful re-entry, and offering essential resources that promote long-term stability and independence for our alumni.

Why Your Support Matters

  • Help youth heal from trauma through creative expression.

  • Empower alumni with resources to achieve independence.

  • Provide alternatives to incarceration, fostering brighter futures.

Your donation funds essential services like trauma-informed writing circles, case management, and pro-social activities. Together, we can create meaningful change.

How to Give:

Your generosity ensures that every young person we serve has the chance to rewrite their story.

Let’s rewrite futures, one story at a time.

"Had it not been for IOW and their support system, I don’t know where I would be today. And I hope others see how important IOW is for those of us who have been adversely impacted by the juvenile justice system."
